Scrap busting top patterns
I didn’t want to waste a single scrap of the gorgeous Merchant and Mills linen that was left over from the Ravine dresses, so I decided to search for some scrap busting top patterns.
First up was the Papercut Patterns Solar Tee. This was such a quick and easy make, and took less than an hour to whip together.
This is such a versatile pattern it can be made with woven or knit fabric, amazing hey! It’s such an easy top to wear, I really like the added sleeve ruffle. The linen is getting softer and softer with each wear.
The next pattern is a true scrap buster! It’s a backless crop top. It isn’t something that I would wear everyday, but they have been great for holiday.
The pattern is the George and Ginger Canny Crop Top. For the strapping I used scraps of Liberty of London quilting cotton that I had in my stash. I really like the floral detail that this adds.
I just about managed to squeeze a version out of the leftovers of the cinnamon colour linen too (yay).
I absolutely love that I managed to make a few really wearable tops out of scraps that may have otherwise ended up in the bin. I’m even using the most tiny leftover scraps to make a contemporary quilt top.
